At Gadgetoff on Friday many robots were on show. Underground survey robots, vacuum cleaners through to academic research projects all were being showed-off at this gadget festival.
A Gadgetoff on Friday the head of the US defense research agency (DARPA) showed their progress in developing bionics. First tested on Monkeys and then tried on humans, these first brain controlled robotic prosthetic limbs offer a future where full mobility and function can be restored for a limb-loss victim. As Gadgetoff kicks off in New York City, IAC gets a chance to show-off it’s really big TV to a gathering of gadget geeks. Photos show the inside and the outside of this huge, multimillion dollar rear-projection screen.
Veteran stuntman Teel James Glenn is an expert at falling down stairs. He should be. He’s been doing dangerous stunts for thirty years. I, on the other hand, have only falled down a few sets of stairs. So I asked him to be my stunt double.
I could have sworn his voice went up a few octaves when he sqeezed into my tracksuit.
The joke was supposed to be that the six foot four inch giant was so obviously not me.
But, thanks to the magic of editing. You can hardly tell the difference.
But, when you watch the whole clip, you can see just how ridiculous he looks and feels wearing my clothes. And yes, I was in my boxers for most of the shoot.
